Cheap! I can’t even count the number of people I know who have fallen on hard times because they were guilted into tithing.
My husband’s grandmother died because a sweating, crying televangelist ”NEEDED” her money more than she needed her prescriptions.
My neighbors spent 20 years giving 10% so their preacher could send his 6 kids to private schools and go on lavish vacations when he wasn’t spending it on crack and whores. If they had put that money into savings, they would not be losing their home now.
Religion isn’t cheap, it costs a lot to keep those at the top living like kings. Just think about what they are selling... imaginary real estate... it costs them nothing...they can sell the same plot to thousands...and no one will ever come back from the dead to demand their money back. That should keep people awake at night!

There is a saying that faith can move mountains. It is very true that religion, faith and spirituality can cure many diseases of the mind and body. The mind power increases with religion and spirituality. When that happens, the power of the body to heal itself increases rapidly. Research has been done several times and the results have been found positive. To say that the body heals itself and the mind or prayer has no role in it is naive and stupid. That is what the rational thinkers [Read frogs in the well] thought so but had no answer how and why incurable diseases have been cured with the patients mind power and prayers. The fact that the mind controls the body and religion and spirituality besides faith improves the power of the mind is no superstition, old wives tales, myths or a fairy tales. Gone are the days when people would support your likes and enrich the Capitalists, communists, feminists etc. Many many people now are taking to spirituality as they are frustrated being slaves of Capitalists and the materialists. Faith certainly can heal and cure. But so can faith in communism or anything. It’s called the placebo effect. A sugar pill, vitamine, ayurvedic remedy, any action, such as praying, meditating or simply being deep in thought, or a philosophy (communism, Christianity etc.) can get a person through tough times and ... ”move mountains” (Funny, the Hindu quoting from the Muslims).

Religion has been around for several centuries and its origin has to do with the dire need of the people at that time and at all times to come for happiness and peace. Its absence spells misery and doom. You expect religions of the world to do miracles and solve all problems without understanding what religion is. You want people to not to practice religion and yet expect miracles to happen. Religion and spirituality is much more deeper than the concept of placebo effect. A truly religious and spiritual person does not fall ill as frequently as ordinary person, in the first place. If he does, his cure is guaranteed and his ability to withstand the pain is far far greater than ordinary people. Religion is much beyond ordinary concepts and it is realisation of the SELF.

So in the whole history of mankind, no one ever died of anything except extreme old age? Think about what you are saying!! You are saying that people just wished away malaria, polio, typhoid, syphilis, bubonic plague, and all of the other conditions that doctors and scientists have developed cures for.
In the 1300s, 1/3 of the population of Europe died from bubonic plague...There was plenty of praying going on but none of cured the plague...DOCTORS & SCIENTISTS invented antibiotics and did what god was not able to do....CURE!

You are talking about ordinary people. Look at the monks. They hardly fall ill. If they do, they suffer very less and they find a cure very fast. If vast majority of people sufered due to plague etc. its because people didn’t follow the path laid down by monks and religious leaders. I am saying that the Caiptalists are promoting certain concepts even if it is not originally theirs because such concepts help them in getting more and more money. I agree. Religion was misuse and misinterpreted. The evils of non-religious concepts is much worse. The nuclear bomb, guns, bombs, environmental disasters, pollution were all created by scientific progress.

I am not ignorant of the need and helpfulness of science and technology. I am against the forces of capitalism, consumerism, commies, femmies etc. who are leading us into a world of spiritual bankruptsy and soullessness simply because some people misused religion in the past and religion was made an instrument of war. On the other hand, the commies, atheists and feminazis refer to certain class of people as inferior and slaves. How many people in India live on the streets today compared to 20 years ago? The economy of India has improved tenfold in the last decade and quality of life has risen more there than just about any other country.
Religion did cause it because Christianity was the death of the age of reason and it ushered in the dark ages. People like Plato, Socrates, Hippocrates were all from the age of reason, there were great cities with indoor toilets and aqueducts, the Christians killed or labeled all learned people heretics for daring to question all the myriad contradictions in their religion. After a few hundred years there was no one left who could make indoor plumbing or aqueducts to irrigate the fields. Same in Egypt, the Muslims finished what the Jews and Christians had started there, destroying the seat of learning for the whole world, then after a few centuries no one remembered how to embalm a body or build a pyramid. (The Christians killed the last Librarian of the Library at Alexandria... ”SHE” was also a philosopher and mathematician.)
Most of the ancient knowledge was lost and mankind had to start all over in the age of enlightenment. Don’t they teach world history in India?
